HONOLULU, Hawaiʻi--- The Biola men's soccer team scored first, but the Chaminade Silverswords would come back in the match's final minutes to tie the game, 1-1.
The Eagles (4-6-3 overall, 2-2-1 PacWest Conference) were firing away, but seemed to be halted at every opportunity by the Silverswords (0-8-3, 0-4-2 PacWest). Biola totaled 24 shots, 11 of which were on-goal and saved by Chaminade's defense.
The first half was scoreless, despite an admirable effort by BU. The Eagles had 14 shots and six were saved by the Silverswords' goalkeeper.
Biola received their breakthrough in the second half when they drew a foul in the box. Tom Irion took the penalty kick and scored the first goal of the game, 1-0.
Five minutes later, Chaminade would receive their break and knock in the game-tying goal (1-1).
Dylan Memory and Brennan Furlan led the Eagles with two shots on-goal each. Adrian Acevedo, Luca McGreevey Couchman, Ethan Hardin, Justin Eisenmann, Jeremy Larson, Samuel Vandegrift and Irion logged one a piece.
The Eagles will regroup and play next on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. PT at Hawai'i Pacific.
