LA MIRADA --- The backstroke belonged to Alejandro Marchesini last week, leading to a PCSC Swimmer of the Week award on Thursday. 

For the second-straight week, Biola men's swim and dive claimed the conference swimmer of the week award. The PCSC handed the weekly honor to Marchesini this week, after he claimed three event wins on Saturday.

Last weekend, Biola took care of business against Concordia in a dual meet in Irvine, California. Marchesini was a big part of the men's win with three golds to help BU win by a 171.5-116.5 margin.

The freshman took advantage of his first full slate of backstroke events of the season. Marchesini was the top finisher in the 50, 100, and 200 backstroke events. He started the day with a 1:55.06 in the 200, a time of 52.44 in the 100, and a 24.60 in the 50.

Marchesini and the Eagles will be back in the pool at the PCSC championships beginning on February 8.
