SOUTH JORDAN, Utah--- The Biola University women's golf team got off to a slow start on Sunday at the Glenmoor Golf Club, finishing the first round ninth of 12 teams.
However, the Eagles have time to recuperate with 36 holes remaining in the three day tournament.
The top three teams in the first round were University of Tampa (292), Colorado Mesa (296) and Colorado Christian (300).
The invite included two more PacWest Conference teams: Academy of Art (319) and Dominican (330). ART U was the highest finishing PacWest team of the day, three strokes ahead of Biola (322), in seventh place. Dominican was second to last, eight swings behind the Eagles and 11 below of the Urban Knights.
Madison Voisard and Brady Turnquist were tied as Biola's top finishers in 26th place, seven strokes above par. Behind them was Rachel Shaw (33rd, 80, +9) and Melanie Reyes and Abigale Morris (T84th, 88, +16).
