LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Biola University softball team had not one, but 10 athletes named to the 2021-22 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list, including one freshman, six sophomores, two juniors, and a senior.  Â
As a team, softball ranked 67th out of the 97 Division II universities honored with a 3.405 grade-point average (GPA). The Eagles had the third-highest GPA among the six PacWest Conference institutions recognized. Dominican University came in first at No. 40 (3.547 GPA), followed by No. 42 Chaminade University (3.53 GPA), No. 67 Biola, No. 82 Azusa Pacific University (3.31 GPA), No. 83 Concordia University Irvine (3.29), and No. 97 Academy of Art (3.03 GPA).
These rankings and honors given by the NFCA recognized the academic success of softball teams across the association's membership categories for the 2021-22 academic year. To be eligible for the individual award student-athletes must have had a 3.5 grade-point average or higher. In Division II, 1,646 athletes were recognized as Easton/NFCA Scholar All-Americans.Â
