NEW ORLEANS --- All Region honors were handed out by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, recognizing the achievements of Hanna Bevan, Rebeka Preston and Lynette Ruiz.

The trio of athletes for Biola made an impact in five different events with Preston and Ruiz earning All-Region honors in multiple events. Top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.

Long distance competitions belonged to Ruiz, who made the USTFCCCA All-Region Team in the 5,000 and 10,000. The freshman cruised past the field, posting season-best times of 16:59.45 and 35:18.47.

In the 10,000 meter run, Ruiz logged an NCAA Provisional Mark and grabbed a spot at the NCAA DII National Championships. In Allendale, Michigan Ruiz took 13th amongst a group of 23 runners. Her best performance of the season came at the Mike Finelli Track Classic, as the rookie nabbed the event victory and crushed the program record with a time of 35:18.47.

Preston showed off her range of talents by landing on the All-Region team for her score in the heptathlon. A season-best total of 4909 came in at the Bryan Clay Invitational. She managed to land amongst the top 20 in six-of-seven events, while tying her career-best in the high jump at 1.64m.

Biola's best long jumper in Preston also made the All-Region list with her triple jump showcase in 2022. The senior made the podium at the PacWest Championships with a mark of 12.09m. The third place finish came within .03m of her career-best in the event.

Another jump event featured Bevan for the Eagles. The high jump specialist sat comfortably in the 1.60m range throughout the 2022 campaign but brought her best at the conference championships. A 1.68m career-best showing was good enough for second place at the PacWest Championships and top-five in the west region.
