IRVINE, Calif. --- Five Eagles picked up new hardware on Wednesday, as the conference offices announced the postseason All-PacWest honors. Paige Austin topped the list as the PacWest Pitcher of the Year and helped Biola earn a total of five All-PacWest nods.

The PacWest handed out 36 All-PacWest awards between three teams, including all nine fielding positions, a designated player and a utility player. BU placed four athletes on the First Team All-PacWest, which tied just Concordia for the most across the conference. The Eagles added a Second Team nod for five total.

The marquee award for the Eagles came from Paige Austin, who was named the PacWest Pitcher of the Year. The five-year stud put together a career season in 2022 on the way to five conference weekly honors, the pitcher of the year award and a First Team All-PacWest recognition. 

Austin offered up two no-hitters in 2022, including one seven-inning and one five-inning no-no. In addition, she compiled a career-best nine shutouts, while finishing 2022 with a 0.74 earned-run average to tie the PacWest record. The senior also surpassed 200 strikeouts on the year.

The righty's spectacular numbers put her amongst the top pitchers across all of NCAA Division II. Through the 2022 season, Austin ranked No. 2 in hits allowed per seven innings, No. 2 in walks/hits per inning pitched, No. 3 in ERA, and No. 10 in strikeouts per seven innings. Austin also totaled 14 wins and two saves.

Jennifer Morinishi tacked on her second-consecutive First Team All-PacWest selection for her work in the outfield. The lefty showed off her hitting and fielding versatility in 2022, moving around the top three spots in the lineup before landing in the leadoff spot. 

The outfielder paced the Eagles with a .386 batting average and a .423 on-base percentage. Within the PacWest, the junior ranked third in batting average, hits (56) and doubles (14). Morinishi put together a nine-game hitting streak in 2022 and offered her best performance, going 5-5 with three doubles against Academy of Art on April 29.

Second-year player Abie Nowak made her first postseason All-PacWest team, as a First Team selection on Wednesday. Nowak produced eight multi-hit outings and a trio of three-hit performances to help build a .328 batting average.

BU's first baseman logged a 13-game hitting streak in the heart of the season. The sophomore drew the start in all 43 games and totaled 43 hits, six doubles and 14 RBIs. Nowak proved to be one of the toughest to strikeout, ranking 16th in the nation with only one strikeout per 33 at bats.

Sicili Brittingham put together her best season as an Eagle on her way to a First Team All-PacWest distinction. The honor was the first of her career, as she posted personal-bests in batting average (.319), hits (22), RBI (8), slugging percentage (.420) and on-base percentage (.434).

Brittingham earned her spot on the prestigious list through her work in the designated player position. Her best stretch came with a six-game hitting streak, including three multi-hit efforts and five RBIs.

Earning a Second Team All-PacWest distinction, Brie Nowak completed the impressive list of honored Eagles. Nowak carried the majority of the catching duties, as a true sophomore for Biola.

Brie saw 38 starts and 37 game appearances, tallying 27 hits and five doubles. The catcher brought the power with three home runs in 2022 to rank second on the team. From March 19 through March 25, Brie nearly hit .500 with seven hits in 16 at bats and finished the strong stretch with a grand slam against Chaminade.

The Eagles capped off 2022 with a 25-18 overall record and a 18-12 mark in PacWest play.
