ALLENDALE, Mich. --- The 2022 track season for the Biola Eagles will culminate with an appearance at the NCAA DII Track and Field National Championships from their up and coming star. Lynette Ruiz earned the lone nationals bid for BU, racing amongst the field in the 10,000m run.

Ruiz has impressed in her first collegiate season both on the track and field squad and the cross country team. The young talent came to Biola from Simi Valley High School and immediately made an impact for the Eagles.

In her first attempt at the 10,000 meter race, Ruiz beat the Biola program-record and cut off nearly a minute from that previous record. At the Mike Finelli Track Classic, she crossed the finish line at 35:18.47 to finish in first and secure a NCAA provisional mark. 

Ruiz will take her quick pace to Grand Valley State to compete amongst a field of 23 runners in the 10,000 event. The long distance race is set for Thursday, May 26 at 5:50 pm (PDT) .
