KANSAS CITY --- The Eagles roped in their postseason conference awards last week, which included a First Team All-PacWest selection for Jennifer Morinishi. The bright star added to her accolades on Thursday with a CoSIDA Academic All-District award.

The 2021-22 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Morinishi was the lone award-winner from the PacWest conference and was one of 12 honorees from the three conferences in District 8.

The BU center fielder paced the offense, boasting a .386 batting average in 2022. Morinishi picked up 56 hits, while leading the team in batting average, hits, runs scored, doubles and at bats. With 14 doubles, Morinishi ranked third in the PacWest and 98th in the country.

The redshirt junior showed off her versatility, contributing in the field, at the plate and in the circle, while excelling in the classroom. While majoring in human biology, Morinishi has locked in a grade-point average of 3.96 through her four years at Biola.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in June.
