April 26, 2022

INDIANAPOLIS --- Biola women's golf is headed to the next round of postseason play after a winning performance at the PacWest Championships. The Eagles will compete at the NCAA DII West Regionals from May 2-4 in Stockton, California in a field of 12 teams.

In the most recent WGCA National Coaches Poll, Biola was voted on as the No. 25 team in the nation. The NCAA DII West Regional is chalk full of top-ranked teams, including No. 1 Dallas Baptist, No. 9 Cal State San Marcos, No. 11 West Texas A&M, No. 22 Texas A&M - Commerce and No. 24 Texas A&M International.

April 20 brought the biggest success so far this season for the Eagles, as the group closed out the PacWest Tournament in the top spot. Biola completed the comeback in the final two holes of the final round, slipping past Dominican for the program's first conference championship since joining the PacWest.

BU's Female Student-Athlete of the Year Brady Turnquist has highlighted the team with three tournament wins in the fall. The sophomore impressed in her second season, totaling five top-five finishes in the 2021-2022 campaign, while averaging a score of +4 and 75.57 strokes through 28 rounds.

All participants in the NCAA DII West Region Championships will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top three (central) and five (east, south and west) teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championships.

The national championships will be held May 10-14 at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 98.
