IRVINE, Calif. --- The PacWest announced a pair of athletes as golfers of the week on Thursday. Sami Penor picked up a share of the weekly honor following a strong showing at the Patriot Invitational.

Penor was the top dog on the Biola squad this past week, pacing the team in all three rounds in Pebble Beach, California. The senior led the team to a sixth place finish amongst a field of 12 total teams and four top-10 foes.

Round one was the peak of the tourney for Penor, who turned in a score of 72 (+1). In the first day of competition, Penor compiled six birdies through two rounds and was a par machine in round two with 11 total. 

Consistency stayed at the forefront of Penor's game, as the invite transitioned to the final round on day two. The Henderson, Nevada native finished her effort with a score of 75 (+4), tacking on 14 pars in the round. Through the three rounds, Penor finished 10-over par at 223 and nabbed a share of 13th on the individual leaderboard.

The conference weekly honor was the second of the spring for Penor and the sixth for the team this year.

Biola will be back in action for its final regular season competition on Monday, April 4 at the WT Desert Invite in Tucson, Arizona.
