LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola got the best of Hawaii Pacific last week in a match that's helping sort out who the top team in the PacWest Conference is.
Colbeyshae Emery was a huge part of that win, taking a three-set (tiebreaker) decision at the No. 1 singles spot to help propel Biola to victory.
The Eagles' redshirt sophomore finished the week with three singles wins all at the No. 1 position and she and
Mary Brascia improved to 13-1 in doubles with another strong week. Emery lost the first set in her match vs. HPU and then rattled off six-consective set wins to close out the undefeated singles week.
As a result of her continued stellar individual play, Emery was selected Monday as the PacWest Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week. This is Emery's first selection this season. It is Biola's second, following
Alexandria Mann's honor back on February 22.
Colbeyshae sits at 11-3 in singles this season. She's won eight matches in a row.Â
She and the Eagles have two matches this week. They host Metro State at 4:30 p.m. Thursday and then face Azusa Pacific in Azusa on Saturday.
