ALAMEDA, Calif. --- Biola moved up one spot on the final day of action at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout on Tuesday. The team posted a score of 297, improving on day one by six strokes to slide into fourth place.

BU battled amongst a field of 13 teams through the two-day tournament in Alameda, California. Despite leading after day one, the host squad CSU East Bay (292-298-590) fell to second, as Sonoma State (303-286-589) powered ahead of the pack to win the 36-hole tourney. BU (303-297-600) came in 11 strokes back of the leader at +24 as a team.

Round two began in a strange fashion for BU sophomore Brady Turnquist. The top scorer for the Eagles opened the round on hole five and double bogeyed the first hole. She remained poised, responding on the next hole with an eagle. The par five did not stand a chance, as Turnquist posted a three to go even through two holes.

The sophomore continued her day with five-straight pars, before tallying three birdies. Turnquist finished the round at 70 (-2) and completed the two-day tourney tied for third place (73-70-143).

Melanie Reyes (79-74-153) came in next on Tuesday, turning in a scorecard of 74 (+2). The freshman tallied three birdies on the day and placed 25th through the two rounds.

Four of five Eagles birdied hole 15, a par five, in round two. The BU squad was fantastic on par fives all day, posting the best scores on par fives at -6 through the four holes.

Rachel Shaw (81-75-156) made up six strokes between Monday and Tuesday, landing at 75 strokes on day two. Lauren Lee followed at 78 (+6) to be the second-best scorer for the Eagles in the tourney (74-78-152). Sami Penor (77-81-158) was the final scorer for BU with a +9 day two.

An impressive day one propelled Mary Grace Davidson (70-80-150) to 15th place on the individual leaderboard. The sophomore competed as an individual and finished the tourney at +6 after securing her first ever hole-in-one.

Biola will return to the course on Monday for the CSU San Marcos Fujikura Invitational.
