Senior Night Spectacular

The Eagles celebrated two seniors on a night that they blew out the visitors, 75-46.

LA MIRADA --- Autumn Hopson and Stephanie Lee received their deserved recognition on Tuesday night, following a one-sided affair against Holy Names (0-23, 0-15 PacWest). The Eagles (17-7, 13-4 PacWest) dominated on both sides of the court to pick up a 75-46 victory inside Chase Gymnasium.

BU nabbed its fourth-straight win on Tuesday, while also increasing its streak of holding opponents to under 60 points to four. The defense has defined the Eagles, as they surge towards the fast approaching PacWest Conference Tournament.

The aggressive defense forced 21 turnovers and grabbed 14 steals against the Hawks. The stingy play created easy buckets for BU, as the squad tallied 32 points off turnovers and 32 fastbreak points.

Despite the focus on the seniors, a couple of other Eagles stood out on Tuesday night. Jordan Rabe pulled in seven rebounds, giving her 184 rebounds in the 2021-22 campaign. The impressive total made Rabe the program-leader for rebounds in a single season during the NCAA Division II era at Biola.

Amiah Simmons was another bright spot for the Biola squad. The freshman was nearly perfect from everywhere, going 7-7 from the field, 1-1 from beyond the arc and 2-3 from the free throw line. For the 10th time this season, Simmons eclipsed 20 points and did so in just 15 minutes on the floor on Tuesday.

As for the seniors, the duo balled out on their night of celebration. Hopson came out with a top-notch effort, pulling in a team-high nine rebounds. Her length and pressure on defense was also tough to deal with, as the 5-8 guard nabbed a pair of steals, which both led to easy layups. Lee did not hesitate shooting the basketball and found her stroke in the second half. The Brea, California native finished the night with 17 points and a team-best five treys and five assists.

Biola's largest lead of the night was a whopping 44 points. Through the first half, HNU only managed 14 points and struggled against the tenacious BU defense throughout the night.

BU will be back in action on Thursday with a road contest at Academy of Art with tipoff set for 5:00 pm.
