LA MIRADA, Calif. — Seven Biola Eagles were among 93 men's water polo players honored by the Western Water Polo Association on Friday for their outstanding academic performance.

The Eagles seven award-winners was comparable to the number received by conference rivals Concordia University Irvine, Fresno Pacific and UC Davis. California Baptist led the league with 16 players recognized.

In order to earn WWPA All-Academic Team placement, student-athletes must have appeared in 50 percent or more of the team's competitions and maintained a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0.

The Eagles' seven honorees were Mitchell Carpenter, Dominic Hidalgo-Valecillo, Jonas Huckabay, Nolan Rapp, Christian Trapp, Matthew Vinson and Kenny Wulf.
