STOCKTON, Calif. --- Biola rose past five teams on Tuesday afternoon to place tied for fourth at the Visit Stockton Invitational. Three Eagles offered up sub-80 rounds, as the team moved up the leaderboard filled with top-tier competition.

Sami Penor led the group on the day, as the Eagles turned in a total of 314 in round two. Combining the two rounds, BU tallied a score of 624 to beat out 14 teams, including five ranked or receiving votes opponents. The only foes to outpace BU were RV Texas A&M International, No. 12 West Texas A&M and No. 13 Cal State San Marcos. 

All 19 teams fought through tough winds on Tuesday morning and afternoon. The more difficult conditions caused higher scores in round two by an average of three strokes.

Round two featured an excellent performance from Penor. The senior notched the fourth-best score of the day, coming in at 75. The +3 outing paced BU and brought her two-round total to 155. Pars were the recipe for success, as Penor piled on 23 pars to rate eighth in the tournament.

The leader for the Eagles for the Stockton Invite was Brady Turnquist (74-77-151). The sophomore star peaked on hole 10, scoring one of only three eagles throughout the whole event. The 503 yard par five was no match for Brady, who landed within ten feet of the hole in two shots and then sunk the meaningful putt.

A strong second round allowed Turnquist to move up one spot on Tuesday. The sophomore finished the event tied for fifth and sitting four strokes behind the ultimate winner.

Melanie Reyes (78-79-157) kept the momentum going for BU with a second sub-80 effort on Tuesday. The freshman snuck in at 79 in round two and completed the two-day event in 26th place on the individual leaderboard. Lauren Lee (78-83-161) and Rachel Shaw (83-89-172) rounded out the scorers for Biola.  

Mary Grace Davidson was the third-best competitor amongst the individual players in the invite. The sophomore's scorecards mirrored each other between the two days, tallying 85 both rounds for a total of 170.

BU will be back in action on Monday, February 28 at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in Alameda, California.
