LA MIRADA, Calif. — For the fifth time this season Biola Women's Golf earned a PacWest Player of the Week honor. This time, the Eagles' depth was displayed as it was senior Sami Penor who earned the weekly honor for the first time this season.

Penor led Biola to a third-place finish in the incredibly competitive Jack Brown Memorial Tournament out in Texas earlier this week and won the individual title with a three-round score of 215 (68-74-73). 

The tournament win is the third in Penor's four-year career at Biola. It's her first win since the 2018-19 season and her first round score of 68 is the lowest single round score in Biola Women's Golf's program history.

Penor leads the program in career scoring average (77.0) and her performance this week would help see her continue to lower that. This is her third time earning PacWest Golfer of the Week.

It's a quick turnaround for Penor and Biola Women's Golf as they head to Stockton, California for the 2022 Visit Stockton Invite, hosted by Western New Mexico, which is set to begin play on Feb. 14.
