LA MIRADA---The Biola University Men's Soccer Team swept the PacWest Conference's weekly awards, claiming all three honors: Team of the Week, Player of the Week, and Defender of the Week.

The Eagles won twice last week, first over Hawai'i Pacific at home and then again on the road with a 1-0 clinching-win against Holy Names. Biola's win over the Hawks made them Co-Champions of the PacWest Conference and gave them the PacWest's automatic qualifier berth to Regionals due to their head-to-head victory over Dominican.

Theo Le Calve was named PacWest Player of the Week for his stellar performances against Hawai'i Pacific and Holy Names where he totaled three goals and an assist. 

Against the Sharks, Le Calve played a role in three of the Eagles' four goals over HPU. Le Calve sank in two penalty-kick goals and contributed an assist in BU's 4-0 victory.

Le Calve also had the game-winning goal in Biola's 1-0 victory over Holy Names that clinched Biola's ticket to postseason.

JD Gunn received his second Defensive Player of the Week award for the 2022 season for his part in the Eagles' successes last week. Gunn recorded two shutouts where he made five combined saves in two crucial wins for the Red and Black. 

In the Eagles' 1-0 win over Holy Names, Gunn made two saves to defend their 1-0 victory.

The Eagles look forward to competing in Regionals for the second-consecutive year. The NCAA Division II selection show will air later today and Biola will find out who they are playing and where they will go. The selection show will begin at 3:30 p.m. PT.
