GREENWOOD, Ind.---The Biola Men's Soccer team had four Academic All-District Team selections as announced Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators.

To be eligible student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve who played in at least 50 percent of their teams games with at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. Athletes must have also been at their institution for at least 12 months to be eligible, unless they are a graduate student. 

JD Gunn, Kristian Colaci, Moritz Riegel and Matteo Napoletano represented Biola as Academic All-District selections.

Gunn has a 4.0 cumulative GPA in his Master's of Business Administration. Gunn is a veteran team captain who played and started in all 18 games. Gunn was the 2022 PacWest Goalkeeper of the Year who totaled 58 saves, seven shutouts and a 1.06 goals against average. 

Colaci is another master's student who has a 4.0 cumulative GPA in business administration. Colaci was the PacWest's Player of the Year with a league-high of 15 goals. Colaci was also recently named D2CCA First Team All-Region.

Riegel is also pursuing his Master's in Business Administration and has a 3.8 cumulative GPA. Riegel was a Third Team All-PacWest selection who led his team with five assists.

Napoletano was the Eagles' last Academic All-District selection. Napoletano has a 3.6 GPA in business administration. Napoletano was a key reserve for Biola who scored three goals and had one assist in 2022.

All-District selections will be move on and be voted on for Academic All-America. The Academic All-American team will be released on Wednesday, December 7.
