Divers in Action

The swimming and diving teams’ divers competed for the first time this season at the Rodionoff Invite.

MALIBU, Calif.---The Biola University Swim and Dive teams' divers saw some action at the Rodionoff Invite hosted by Pepperdine University at the Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool.

The Eagles were the solo Division II institution competing in a field of Division I teams. Scoring was separated by division, meaning each division was scored separately in the two-day tournament.

In the first day of action the women's divers competed in the 3-meter while the men participated in the 1-meter. 

Eliana Cote was Biola's lead scorer in the 3-meter, coming in first with a score of 158.85 and Abby DePina was second with a score of 150.90.

On the men's side, Caleb Pook came in first with a score of 198.15 and Luke Bartruff was second, collecting 141.75 points.

In the second day of action, Depina and Cote flipped spots. Depina was Biola's leader, ranking first with 216.85 points and behind her was Cote with 198.50 points.

Pook held down the lead on the men's side with a score of 183.75 and Bartruff was next with a final score of 141.75.

The Eagles compete next in their home meet against Fresno Pacific and the Master's on October 15. Start time is set for 10 a.m. at Lansing Pool.
