IRVINE, Calif.--- The West Regional Preview was a tournament to remember for the Biola University women's golf team, especially junior Brady Turnquist. 

The Eagles were named PacWest Team of the Week for a great combined team effort. The Eagles fared well in the first round, shooting 303, which placed them in the top half of the leaderboard. Biola improved in the following two rounds, shaving off eight strokes in the second round (295) and three in the third (292) to end up in third place in a competitive field. 

Biola broke two program records at the West Regional Preview. The Eagles set a new team single-round best in the third round with a record breaking round of 292. The Eagles previous single-round best was 293 at the NCCAA West Regional in 2018. 

The second record that was broken by Biola was their three-round combined best team record. The Eagles hit 890 at the West Regional Preview which was four strokes better than the previous season's record of 894 at UH Hilo's Dennis Rose Invitational.

Turnquist was a key element to Biola's success at the West Regional Preview. She turned in a final scorecard of seven-under-par 65, a program best, which placed her in second. 

Prior to the third round, Turnquist was tied for 10th and at the end of the third round she nearly overcame the tournament's medalist Julia Garcia from Dallas Baptist University. Garcia (DBU) edged Turnquist by one stroke in the two day invitational. 

Turnquist had an Eagle and 12 birdies in the three-day tourney.

The Eagles play next on Tuesday, October 25 at the HPU Sharks Shootout at the Pearl Country Club.
