IRVINE, Calif.--- Lynette Ruiz received this week's PacWest Runner of the Week for her performance at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. 

Ruiz finished second in a competitive field of 144 runners, helping her team win the Pomona-Pitzer title. She was the Eagles top runner with a time of 21:41.3 where she trailed one of the best Division III runners in the country, Claremont-Mudd Scripps' Natalie Bitetti. 

The men's cross country team received team recognition for their group performance at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite. Biola finished third behind two nationally ranked teams, second place D-II Cal Poly Pomona (No. 20) and winner D-III Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (No.14).

Benjamin White headlined for the Eagles, winning first place with the course's second fastest time ever of 24:43.

The women's and men's cross country teams compete next at the John Elders Titan Invite on Friday, October 21st at 5 p.m.
