NEW ORLEANS --- Biola cross country continues to receive regional and national recognition from the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in the latest coaches poll. The women's team climbed one spot in the regional rankings moving up to No.6 in the west, while the men's team remained at No. 4 in the west region and were bumped to No. 23 in the nation.

Biola's latest rankings reflect results from The Master's Invitational, the Eagles second race of the season. Both teams finished strong earning a second place team finish in both the men's and women's races.

Although the rankings show promise, Biola's runners have yet to reach their potential. "We are still waiting to get our team on the same page and firing on all cylinders, so we're getting closer," commented Head Coach Sean Henning.

Both teams ran shorthanded in the second contest of the season but still put up impressive numbers. The men's team placed two runners in the top-20 with two more securing top-25 finishes. The women's squad also performed well, placing four runners in the top-20 after battling back from a tough start to the race.

Rankings are fun, but Henning and his team's goals won't change either way. "We are committed to being the best version of ourselves, and I think that's pretty high this year," said Henning. "We are looking to time everything perfectly and be at our best come November."

Biola is back in action on October 9, as the Eagles prepare for slit-squad action at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in Claremont, California as well as the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Illinois.
