HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. --- Biola and Jordan Gossett will make the perfect match when she joins the cross country and track and field squads in the fall of 2021. Gossett's mindset and focus on God, athletics and academics will fit right into the BU culture.

Head Coach Sean Henning is enthused to bring on a determined athlete like Gossett, "She is a terrific fit for Biola and a Christ centered program. I am excited to work with her and watch her contribute to this team in a great way!"

A Mountain Vista High product, Jordan Gossett will bring long-distance prowess to the BU cross country and track and field teams. Through four years as a Golden Eagle, Gossett collected six varsity letters, three in each running sport.

Jordan's track career culminated in 4x400 and 4x800 races in the Colorado State Championships in her sophomore season. The relay teams posted impressive times to go along with 16th and sixth-place finishes, respectively.

Individually, Gossett posted personal-best times of 2:29.40 in the 800 meter run and 5:55.82 in the 1600 meter race. In cross country, the Biola-commit was just as strong, claiming a 12:39.00 in the two-mile run and a 19:24.40 personal-record in the 5,000 meter run.

"I am excited to add Jordan to our squad this coming year," commented Henning. "She comes from a very strong program out in Colorado at Mountain Vista and has a lot of experience that comes with being on a successful team." 
 
Off the track, Gossett plays an active role in her church, volunteering and helping lead worship. The young talent is not afraid to take a leadership role, as the worship pastor for her youth group and a leader for a separate youth-led youth group.
 
A focus on Christ was a major reason why Gossett decided on Biola for her education, "I chose Biola because of the biblically-centered school that it is and I fell in love with the school when I toured it as a sophomore," said Jordan. "It has been my dream school ever since and I love everything about it including the cross country and track team and coaches! I am so excited to meet everyone and I am mostly excited to compete and train with God-loving people by my side!"
 
Academically, Gossett shone brightly, graduating with a 3.9 grade-point average from Mountain Vista. The incredible student plans to major in engineering physics, while hoping to work in missions and ministry and apply engineering to build water systems and wells around the globe.
