USTFCCCA RELEASE
NEW ORLEANS, La --- Biola's Emily Alvarez and Rebeka Preston return home from outdoor track and field nationals with USTFCCCA second-team All-American honors.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced All-America honors for the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season on Tuesday.
Biola's Emily Alvarez and Rebeka Preston earned second-team selections. To qualify for a second team selection, athletes must have finished 9-12th in individual events at this past weekend's outdoor championships meet.
Alvarez ran her hardest to secure a second-best career time at the national championships. The graduate student ran the 400 hurdles in 1:00.21 to secure a ninth-place finish.
Preston also repressed Biola well at the outdoor national championships. The junior finished tenth overall in the heptathlon with a final score of 4,688 points.
