ALLENDALE, Mich. --- The Eagles' first trip to the NCAA DII Track and Field Championships came to a close on the final day of competition. The Saturday action included Emily Alvarez running in the 400 meter hurdles finals. 

The top nine athletes in NCAA Division II battled in the 400 meter hurdles on Saturday. Alvarez hit the track for BU, running in the second lane.

The sun came out for the day three action, which was a welcome change from Friday's cold and wet conditions.

One lap around the track and ten hurdles was in between Alvarez and the finish line. The graduate student accomplished the task in a time of 1:00.21 to land in ninth-place by a .003 margin. The blazing speed marked the second-best time for Alvarez in her career.

"We are very proud of (Emily). She gave her absolute best effort!" said head coach Sean Henning.

Alvarez completed her career at Biola on Saturday, as the program record-holder for the 600 meter race and 400 meter hurdles.
