LA MIRADA, Calif. --- A 19-13 overall mark and a second-place finish in the PacWest Southern California Pod helped the Eagles land the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Division II West Regional Championship. 

The postseason tournament will begin on Wednesday and will proceed through Saturday in a double-elimination format. By securing the second seed, BU avoids the first round and will open the tournament on day two.

The 2021 BU squad was led by PacWest Coach of the Year, Nikki Udria. The third-year head coach helped the Eagles score a program-best NCAA DII ranking, rating No. 24 in the nation.

First-Team All-PacWest and NFCA All-West Region First-Team honoree Paige Austin leads the pitching rotation for Biola. The righty ace produced a fourth-straight 10-win campaign, while compiling 131 strikeouts through 20 appearances.

At the plate, Kayla Neff has been the star of the BU offense, earning First-Team All-PacWest and NFCA All-West Region Second-Team distinctions. The senior clobbered four home runs to go along with a .326 batting average to pace the team.

Biola's first contest of the NCAA Division II West Regional Championship will be on Thursday at 2:30 pm against the winner of third-seeded Northwest Nazarene and sixth-seeded Central Washington.
