Mason Highlights Friday’s Performances

Mackenna Mason’s 10,000m ranks as Biola’s best finish on Friday.

AZUSA, Calif. --- In the final meet of the regular season, Biola took on day one of the Last Chance Twilight meet at Cougar Stadium.

Mackenna Mason continued to shine for Biola Track & Field as the senior finished fourth in the 10,000m on Friday. Mason's mark of 37:14.46 is nearly a one-minute improvement from her mark at the PacWest Championships which was good enough for a conference title.

Mason's best mark in the 10,000m was at Cougar Stadium in early April at the Bryan Clay Invitational. 

On the men's side of the 10,000m, Angel Escobar finished in sixth place with a time of 30:26.82, just shy of his college best of 30:25.01. Brady DeHaven finished in eighth place in the event with a collegiate best time of 30:29.52. DeHaven's previous best of 30:57.14 also took place at Cougar Stadium. 

In the heptathlon, Rebeka Preston finished fifth in the both the high jump and 200m with marks of 1.61m and 25.84 respectively. After day one of competition, Preston sits at 2,991 points in the heptathlon. 

In the field, Hannah Hubbard  finished ninth in the long jump with a mark of 5.52m. 

Biola returns to Cougar Stadium for day two of the Last Chance Twilight on Saturday.
