LA MIRADA, Calif. --- For the third-straight week, the Biola softball team corralled the PacWest Pitcher of the Week award. On Monday, Raylene Roybal earned the distinction, following a pair of wins against No. 8 Concordia.

The Pico Rivera, California native began the week with a career-high in strikeouts against CUI. Through just four innings in the circle, Roybal collected five strikeouts, while allowing zero earned runs. The effort resulted in her fifth win on the year.

In a rematch at Concordia, Roybal followed up her midweek performance with a complete game shutout. A CUI runner never touched third base, as Roybal gave up three hits and struck out four hitters. The victory for the righty hurler marked the third shutout and sixth win of the season for the sophomore.

Roybal helped Biola win three-of-four contests last week to keep BU at the top of the PacWest SoCal pod standings.

Roybal's dominance pitching for the Eagles has her within the top-11 in the PacWest conference for complete games with three and WHIP at 1.33.

Biola will be back in action on Friday, April 16 in a road doubleheader against Azusa Pacific.
