Top 25 Poll  |  Regional Rankings
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Eagles collected a program-best mark on Wednesday, ranking No. 24 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association DII Top 25 Coaches Poll.
Biola pulled in 38 points in the poll, following a four-game split with the 12th-ranked CUI Eagles. The weekend series wrapped up league play for Biola, as the BU squad finished the season with a 7-5 season series record over Concordia.
Ruth Munoz played an important role throughout the last week of action, posting three-hit outings in both of the BU wins against CUI. The senior also produced her first career home run, giving Biola a Friday victory with a walkoff three-run shot.
Through the four games, Munoz went 8-for-16 at the plate with a homer and a triple to earn her a PacWest Player of the Week award.
Biola has been great at battling in many close contests of late. The Eagles have won four-of-five games decided by two or less runs within the last two weeks of action.
A strong 2021 campaign has also pushed the Eagles up the regional rankings, as the team heads towards the postseason. Biola was one of eight teams designated as "under consideration" for the NCAA DII West Regional set for May 19.
BU has completed its regular season schedule and is currently awaiting the results of the weekend series between Azusa Pacific and Concordia to determine who will represent the SoCal pod in the PacWest automatic qualifier opportunity.
