LA MIRADA, Calif. --- In a week where the Biola softball squad faced off against No. 11 Concordia in back-to-back doubleheaders, Ruth Munoz offered her best stretch of play in 2021. The impressive week earned Munoz her first career PacWest Player of the Week award, as announced on Monday.

The highlight of the week was certainly the senior's heroics on Friday in the first half of the doubleheader. BU entered the bottom of the seventh trailing by two runs at home. Munoz came up and slammed a three-run homer for her first career home run to walk off against Concordia.

The shortstop was the epitome of consistency through the series, opening up a four-game hitting streak. Munoz logged three hits in game one of both doubleheaders, helping improve her season batting average to .310.

Munoz matched or surpassed single-game season-highs in five hitting categories over the weekend series against CUI, including three hits, one home run, one triple, two runs scored and three RBI.

Munoz and the Eagles are slated to return to action on Saturday at home.
