WAIKOLOA, Hawaii --- On Tuesday, the Eagles took to Waikoloa Beach Course for day two of the PacWest Championship Tournament. Entering the day, Biola sat in third place after carding a team score of 313 after the first 18 holes. Freshman standout Brady Turnquist led the Eagles with a sixth place finish on the individual leaderboard.

With day two in the books, Biola (313-312-625) hangs onto third place as Point Loma (307-294-601) claimed the top spot with Academy of Art (316-307-623) right behind. 

Brady Turnquist continued to impress as she broke into the top-5 after 36 holes. Turnquist improved from her day one score by one stroke, carding a 73 to lead the Eagles. 

In the front nine, the freshman finished two-over par and improved in the back nine by one stroke. Turnquist will head into day three in fifth-place on the individual leaderboard. 

"Brady was definitely in a zone today. It was one of those days where she was picking targets and she was throwing darts at the targets. Brady had a stress free day with a lot of tap in pars," said Head Coach Jane Carr. "She quietly goes about her business and is one of those players that can sneak up on you. I wouldn't be surprised if she moves up the leaderboard tomorrow."

Sami Penor also improved from her day one score, carding a 77 on day two. Penor started the day off strong as she was even-par through three holes, including a birdie on the second hole. Penor sits tied for 16th-place with Point Loma's Tabetha Kang heading into the final day of the competition.

Jules Loibl joined Penor and Turnquist to give Biola three golfers inside the top-20 as she finished the day in 18th-place on the individual leaderboard, carding a score of 80. Loibl bounced back from a tough front nine where she shot nine-over to put up an impressive back nine at just one-over. Loibl's impressive bounceback included a birdie on the 16th.

Rachel Reynolds and Sophia Karnazes rounded out BU's team score carding scores of 82 and 86.

"The difference maker so far this week is that we haven't had a lot of birdies. Rachel Reynolds started the tournament with a birdie on hole one and was even par after nine holes, but big numbers ono the back ended her momentum," said Carr. "Big number holes have hurt us down the stretch. It seems like we have a players that play one side really well, but struggle on the other side." 

Biola heads into the final day of competition with a serious shot at second place, sitting just two back from ART U. They will fight their way up the leaderboard throughout the final 18 holes. The top three teams all begin their tee times for the final round at 11:25 a.m. PT Wednesday. Biola will look for a good round to lock in a third-consecutive top-3 finish at the PacWest Championships.
