LA MIRADA, Calif. --- As announced on Monday, Colbeyshae Emery was tabbed as the PacWest Player of the Week. Emery earned her first career weekly honor with three singles victories, while helping Biola to two wins on the week.

In BU's opening match of the week, Emery came out unscathed, defeating Metro State's No. 1, 6-0, 6-0. The sophomore maintained the momentum against Westmont, winning another match in straight-sets 6-1, 6-4.

The Ventura, California native put together a strong effort against No. 9 Azusa Pacific, taking the first set from the No. 1 spot, 7-6. The narrow victory proved crucial, as Emery moved ahead 4-2 in the second set before Petra Ivankovic had to retire from the match due to an injury.

Three wins helped improve Emery's record to 11-1 and her winning streak to eight-straight in singles. Through the latest eight victories, Emery has closed out each quickly, only needing two sets in each contest.

Biola will be back in action on Saturday at the Biola Tennis Center, taking on Point Loma.
