BU women’s tennis received votes in the latest Oracle ITA Division II Women’s Team Rankings.

March 23, 2021

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The BU women's tennis squad has been rolling through its recent competitions, winning its last seven matches. The stretch of success drew national attention, as the Eagles received votes in the Oracle/ITA Division II Women's Tennis Coaches Poll and improved to be the fourth-ranked team in the West Region.

Biola notched its sixth shutout of the season in its last outing, defeating Western New Mexico last Tuesday. Through the previous five contests, BU gave up just two points, while collecting 31 of its own.

The team also bolstered its resume with wins over quality opponents. BU hit the road for a nail-biter victory over RV Academy of Art on March 1 and took care of business on their home court against No. 22 Fresno Pacific a week later.

A three-headed attack from Colbeyshae Emery, Mary Brascia and Lilly McNeill has pushed the Eagles to a new level. The trio have each only lost one singles match this season, while combining for 26 total wins.

Brascia notched her ninth singles win against Western New Mexico last week, while extending her winning streak to eight-straight matches.

McNeill and Brooke Fager have been unstoppable in doubles, boasting a 10-1 record on the season. The tandem holds a seven-match winning streak and has nine wins from the No. 2 spot.

The Eagles will host their next competition on Tuesday against Metro State at home.
