Box Score IRVINE, Calif. --- Biola (3-3, 2-2 PacWest) and No. 9 Concordia (5-2, 1-1 PacWest) split Thursday's doubleheader, as CUI nabbed game two by a final score of 8-2. 

The BU Eagles were active on the base paths from the opening pitch, as the first four batters reached base. Kayla Neff continued her impressive day after a strong game one showing with an RBI double in the top of the first, giving BU a 1-0 lead.

CUI also started hot, hitting three singles to go along with a walk in the bottom of the initial frame. The host squad notched three runs to put them ahead on the scoreboard.

The two offenses battled through the early stages of the contest, as Biola responded with another run in the second. Haley Martinez worked the count and drew a walk to start the opportunity for BU. Rilee Ruvalcaba and Madison Blossey moved Martinez down to third base with a sacrifice bunt and single, respectively.

Ruth Munoz posted the highlight play with a double to left center, easily scoring Martinez for her first run of 2021. The two-base hit for Munoz improved her total to three doubles on the season, pacing the BU squad.

After adding a run in the third, Concordia broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth. The hosting Eagles compiled four runs in the frame to net the 8-2 victory.

Neff put together a spectacular performance on Saturday, going three-for-four in game two with an RBI double. On the day, Neff collected four hits, four RBI and two extra-base hits to lead the BU lineup, while extending her hitting streak to three games.

Biola will turn around and face off against No. 9 Concordia once again on Saturday at Freedom Field in a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 pm.
