LA MIRADA --- The Biola swimming and diving squads took to the pool last weekend, competing at the CBU Lancers Winter Invitational. The two-day meet was the perfect showcase for Grace Kling's talent, helping her earn a Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference Athlete of the Week award.

"Grace has been swimming fast all season and I am excited to see what she continues to put together for the remainder of the season," commented head coach Nate Harding. "She is a fierce competitor who loves to compete with the best swimmers but she loves having a positive impact on her teammates even more."

Kling added to her bling collection by securing a win in the 100 breaststroke on Saturday. A time of 1:03.92 was a NCAA "B" qualifying time. The sophomore hit the turn in second place but turned on the jets to net the speedy time and take first place.

In her third race on the day, Kling put together a strong effort in the 200 breast. Kling was hot off the blocks, leading through the first 150 yards of the race. In the final stretch she came up .04 seconds short of the victory for second place with a time of 2:17.57.

The Brea, California native also competed in the 50 breast on Friday. Kling logged another top-five finish, taking fifth with a mark of 30.09.

The PCSC weekly honor was the first for the sophomore star and the third overall for the Eagles this year.

Biola swimming and diving will return to the pool on January 7 at Pomona-Pitzer.
