KANSAS CITY --- The United Soccer Coaches announced the 2021 NCAA Division II Men's Scholar All-America Team award-winners, featuring Biola's Izaac Zausch on the prestigious list. Three Eagles including Zausch, Lawrence Kwazema and Theo Le Calve were honored by the United Soccer Coaches, as well, being named to the 2021 NCAA Division II Men's All-West Region Team.

The Eagles impressed in their first season under head coach Joey O'Keefe, finishing second in the PacWest conference and reaching the regional tournament in 2021. A five-match winning streak helped Biola post an 11-7 overall record on the season.

Academic and competitive excellence propelled Zausch to high-ranking accolades, including the 2021 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Men's Scholar All-America Team recognition. The Liberty Hills, Texas native is dedicated in the classroom and boasts a 3.60 grade-point average, while majoring in business administration.  

On the field, Zausch was unmatched in the backline. The St. Edward's transfer started in all 18 contests for BU in 2021, cementing the middle of the defense. The contributions from Zausch led to multiple postseason honors, including First Team All-PacWest, First Team D2CCA All-West Region and First Team United Soccer Coaches All-West Region. Zausch stepped up on offense to improve his resume, accumulating three goals and one assist in 2021.

The United Soccer Coaches also honored Kwazema and Le Calve as Second Team All-West Region. The duo is well decorated, earning First Team All-PacWest and Second Team D2CCA All-West Region this offseason. 

Kwazema anchored the backline alongside Zausch, offering 17 appearances and starts with three assists and 1,390 minutes played. Le Calve dominated the midfield for Biola, posting six goals and three assists through 14 matches on the pitch.

The three award-winners marked the first United Soccer Coaches honorees from Biola men's soccer since the transition to NCAA Division II.
