The trio was a part of a spectacular 2021 campaign for the Eagles. The BU team notched its first NCAA postseason berth, while going 11-6 in the regular season. The squad also collected a five-match winning streak amidst conference play.

"Izaac was at the heart of our backline and offered the perfect blend of technical ability and brute force," said head coach Joey O'Keefe. "Izaac is a leader on the field and has grown as a field general for our team. Izaac has a work ethic that is second to none and this award is thoroughly deserved. I'm excited Izaac will return next year as a second-year captain for his senior season."

Zausch added to his award count on Tuesday with the First Team All-West Region award, following a PacWest Defender of the Year and First Team All-PacWest honors. The redshirt junior was the epitome of consistency, starting all 18 matches at center back for BU. Zausch clogged up the middle to stifle opponents' attacks, while adding on the offense with three goals and one assist.

"Theo is our creative maestro. His technical ability is among the best in the region," commented O'Keefe. "Theo's ability to create and break down defenses was consistent all season long. Theo took the region by storm and was awarded PacWest Conference Newcomer of the Year for his efforts. I cannot wait to see him back on the field next year in his senior season."

Le Calve instigated the BU offense through 14 appearances and 12 starts in 2021. The lefty was stellar on set pieces, helping him score a team-high six goals. Le Calve added three assists for 15 points on the year. The strong campaign led to a PacWest Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-PacWest and D2CCA Second Team All-West Region awards.

O'Keefe had high praise for Kwazema, as well, "Lawrence is one of the most talented athletes in the region. His 1v1 defending ability is superior to all competition. Lawrence has grown so much throughout his collegiate career and was a standout player. Lawrence was at the heart of our defense and refused to get beat."

Kwazema put together an impressive 2021 season, earning an First Team All-PacWest honor before nabbing the D2CCA Second Team All-PacWest nod on Tuesday. The senior anchored the backline with Zausch, helping the team to five shutouts in 2021. The center back was the team's designated throw-in specialist, who logged three assists off of throws into the box from the sideline.

Zausch and the rest of the first team all-region selections will be nominated for All-American awards that are set to be announced in December.
