November 10, 2021

LA MIRADA --- Donatus Onu and Kolya Vos showed up and showed out at the Redlands-La Verne double dual. The duo dominated on the way to PCSC Athlete of the Week honors for each of the star athletes.

The men's and women's swimming and diving squads both pulled out victories on Saturday. Both teams took down Redlands and La Verne with the men winning 157-117 over Redlands and 227-27 against La Verne. On the women's side, BU beat the hosts 163-130, while dominating the Leopards by a 232-38 final mark.

Onu led the men in the pool, scoring a victory in the 1,000-freestyle for his first career win. The freshman posted a time of 10:09.42 to lead all competitors by at least two seconds. The 500-free race also featured Onu, as he nabbed third to score points for BU.

The second NCAA Division II PCSC weekly honor given out was to Vos of Biola on Tuesday. Vos was an integral part of the team performance on Saturday, both as an individual and as a relay participant.

Through two individual races the sophomore tallied the same number of wins. Vos was victorious in the 100-free (53.4) and 200-free (1:58.85). Biola's 400-free relay paced the pack with the help of Vos, who brought it home with the final leg. Vos was the anchor in the 200-medley relay as well, recovering over one second through her leg with a No. 2 finish in the event.

Biola swimming will be back in action at the La Verne Winter Invite, which begins on Friday, November 19.
