IRVINE, Calif. — Adam Jones was electric in the BU men's soccer team's conference-opener against Academy of Art. Jones nabbed two goals in the Biola victory, leading to a PacWest Men's Soccer Player of the Week award.

The sophomore collected his first weekly honor from the PacWest, following his first collegiate tally last week. In the weekend contest, BU finished out a 4-0 rout at home, defeating the Urban Knights in the team's fourth shutout of the season.

Jones entered Saturday's contest as a substitute in the 62nd minute and immediately made his presence felt on the pitch. Less than five minutes after entering the contest, the Spokane Valley, Washington native sent the ball to the back of the opponent's net.

The offense success continued in the 73rd minute with another tally from the sophomore. Jones used his left foot this time, connecting on a score thanks to a great pass from Daniel Simonis. 

The two goals from Jones were his first two scores for the Eagles. Those two tallies came in from three shot attempts and 28 minutes played in the match.

Jones and the Eagles will return to the pitch on Wednesday with a road matchup against Point Loma.
