NEW ORLEANS --- Following the conference championship weekend for the NCAA Division II, the USTFCCCA announced the final regional rankings of the year, along with the national poll. Biola found itself on the impressive list once again, as the men and women garnered national rankings of receiving votes and No. 30 and regional rankings of No. 6 and No. 5, respectively.

BU's women's cross country squad posted a second place finish on Saturday at the PacWest Championships. The group battled to the very end in Kahuku, Hawaii, falling one point shy of conference champion Academy of Art. The team effort helped the Eagles nab 12 points in the national poll for the No. 30 rating, while keeping the squad in the top-five in the west region.

All season Lynette Ruiz has led Biola from the front of the pack. The freshman posted Biola's best time and placement in each race she participated in, culminating with a second place turnout at the PacWest Championship.

The BU men's cross country team took third place at the PacWest Championship, leading to the No. 6 ranking in the west region. Ronald Kigen was the lead runner for the Eagles in the Saturday race, taking seventh on the day with a time of 25:24.3. As a team, Biola placed seven runners in the top-25, helping them score one vote in the national poll.

Biola cross country will now turn their focus onto the NCAA West Region Championships on Saturday, November 6  in Monmouth, Oregon.
