WAIPAHU, Hawai'i --- Both of Monday's soccer matches at Hawaii Pacific have moved up several hours due to lighting issues at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
The women's match will begin at 2 p.m. local time (5 p.m. PT), while the men's contest will slide up to 4:30 p.m. (7:30 p.m. PT). This brings with it some concern over heat during game time, with the weather slated to be in the mid-to-high 80s at game time.
The schedule change was brought about after a lighting failure caused an early end to Saturday's HPU/Concordia Irvine tilt. The lack of lighting caused a tie to be called in the 76th minute.
Up to 1,000 fully vaccinated spectators will be allowed in the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Spectators must show their ID and proof of full vaccination, as well as wear a mask at all times and socially distance while inside the stadium.
