LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Following a second-consecutive tournament victory, sophomore Brady Turnquist was recognized at the PacWest Conference Golfer of the Week Wednesday.

Prior to the trip, Turnquist was walking through the athletics offices and mentioned her intention to win the tournament, and that's exactly what she went on to do.

Turnquist shot a career-best 69 in round one of the Westminster Wasatch Invitational, and she went on to win the event by three strokes following 36 holes of play. Turnquist is now 2-for-2 this year in tournament wins and Golfer of the Week honors.

"She has a competitor's heart. I've never seen a player quite like her," said Head Coach Jane Carr. "She has stellar nerves - nerves of steel. She wants to win and that goes a long way. She's got not just the skill but the heart, and that's what sets her apart."

With her victory out in Utah, the sophomore became the first individual golfer in Biola program history to win three tournaments. She's got almost three full years left to add to that.

Turnquist is averaging 73.0 strokes-per-round so far in 2021-22. This is down from her scoring average of 77.2 from her freshman season in Spring 2021.

Brady and the Eagles have nine more regular season tournaments left in the 2021-22 season, which all leads up to the PacWest Conference championships. Up next for the squad is the Fort Lewis Fall Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico next week.
