LA MIRADA, Calif. --- It's hard to believe it's already been 10 months since Katelyn Harper made history at the 2020 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships, but it's definitely time to get back into the pool. Biola Swim & Dive, under the inspirational leadership of Head Coach Ryan Kauth, is ready for statement season, and it has a 2021 schedule to match.

"I think our team is more excited for swim meets than I think I've ever seen this program be and rightfully so," said Kauth. "We're thankful for administration and blessed to be able to compete. We're looking forward to putting up some good times and letting the conference and the country know what we're about."

The Eagles begin their 2021 slate with a dual meet at the Lancer Aquatic Center in Riverside on January 23, taking on WAC-member and NCAA Division I rising powerhouse California Baptist.

The next weekend the team has a slightly longer road trip up to beautiful Santa Barbara. They will face newcomers Westmont College and also Simpson University at the Westmont pool. Biola will then return to the friendly confines of Lansing Pool for a home dual with PCSC foe Fresno Pacific on February 6.

"Being able to get the opportunity to compete as a program and showcase what we've worked so hard for is great," said Kauth. "I've spent three-and-a-half years building a program I think is an elite-level Division II program and now we're going to get the opportunity to showcase that and that's what I think is exciting about being able to schedule these meets and go against some good competition."

The final two meets of the regular season see a return to the upper echelon as Biola has dual meets at a pair of respected NCAA DIvision I programs. Firstly, Kauth's bunch will travel to San Luis Obispo to meet Cal Poly on Feb. 27. Then, they will hit the road to the historic Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool for a dual at the Pepperdine Waves on March 13.

The meet against the Waves will be a last-minute tuneup before Biola's second trip to the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships happens March 17-20 out in Birmingham, Alabama. Last season was Katelyn Harper carrying the torch for BU. This year, the Eagles hope to send a more-full contingent to the national meet.

"I require them as a group to stay ready throughout the whole year," said Kauth. "That's why you see three d1 teams on our schedule, because we're ready and I'm excited for this team to be able to showcase what they can do this season."

In an untraditional fashion, the conference meet will happen after nationals this year. Biola's quest for more Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Conference podiums and titles takes place between April 14-17. Location is TBA at the moment.
