USTFCCCA RELEASES: MEN | WOMEN

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola's women's and men's track & field programs were both given All-Academic Team recognition by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday as a result of carrying a cumulative GPA above 3.0.

After the team had the highest number of Academic All-PacWest honorees among all programs in the conference (39), the women's track & field roster earned a 3.53 GPA this past school year and was one of three PacWest programs to earn a 3.50 GPA or better as a team (alongside Azusa Pacific and Point Loma). The Eagles and Sea Lions were a close one-two for the highest GPA among women's track and field teams in the PacWest as PLNU earned a 3.537 GPA.

The USTFCCCA honored a total of 149 women's programs with All-Academic Team recognition.

The men's track & field roster earned a 3.48 GPA to pace all programs in the PacWest and place fifth nationally among the 114 NCAA DII men's teams on the list. That group of Eagles saw 24 student-athletes earn Academic All-PacWest recognition, an increase of eight recipients from the year before. And the track & field programs' overall team success made Biola the only institution in the NCAA DII West Region that had both its women's and men's teams earn a GPA of 3.48 or better.

There were a total of three other institutions in the nation that also saw both their women's and men's teams earn a 3.48 or better.
