SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. --- Biola Swim & Dive builds its success on the deep care the members of the program have for each other. It is the strong foundation that allows the Eagles and the coaching staff to push and cheer each other to new heights. 

In fact, caring for each other has become so pivotal that the value has made a big impact on Head Coach Ryan Kauth's recruiting of the 2020 class. Several incoming student-athletes on the men's side particularly had already developed strong ties to members of Eagles' roster before they ever committed to Biola. And now San Clemente High-grad Colin Snyder has decided to reunite with a number of former teammates from both high school and club teams as he dons a "BU" cap this fall. 

Snyder won Sea View and South Coast League Championship in 2018 and 2019, respectively, alongside returning sophomore James Gamette at San Clemente High and also swam alongside Jake Michelsen and returner Tanner Smith for Dolphins Aquatics. He will compete in the IM and distance freestyle at Biola and is looking forward to the academic and athletic environment he will experience over the next few years.

"I chose Biola University because of the tight knit community of the school and the Christian learning experience," said Snyder. "The school is in a good location, has the major I was looking for with the brand new science building I am very excited about, and has a swim team with a great coach and teammates."
 
The Eagles will look to Snyder to help them have even stronger showings in several events they had success in at the PCSC Championships. The San Clemente, California-native will build on a personal best in the 200-IM that would already have been in the top-15 at the conference meet. And his times in events like the 1000 and 1650 freestyle project well alongside Gabe Weber and company to help the Eagles take even more points in those events. 
 
Snyder still holds the Dolphin Aquatics' records for 15 and 16-year-olds in the 1000 and 1650 free, boasting times that would have placed him in the top-five for both events at the 2020 PCSC Championships. He was also part of a Dolphin Aquatics record in the 200 freestyle relay alongside Tanner Smith and set a new personal best in the 1000 free since setting those club records.  
 
Colin Snyder hopes to be a physician's assistant after majoring in kinesiology at Biola and will join a men's swim team that looks to build on its third-place PCSC finish. More information on the incoming 2020-21 class that will join him at Biola can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
