SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. --- Alex White has seen hard work and discipline payoff time and again during his time at San Juan Hills High School. 

A hurdler who competed at the Sea View League Finals as a freshman, White also earned a first degree black belt as an underclassman and became completely fluent in Spanish after excelling in his AP classes. He was named Student of the Year in his AP Spanish V class and also picked up scholar-athlete recognition during a junior year that also included great results in the 110 meter hurdles. 

White worked hard to take his efficiency and consistency up a notch midway through the 2019 track season and ran at least a full second faster than his 2018-best in the 110m hurdles at four-straight meets. According to athletic.net, White moved into the top-10 of the Stallions' record book for the 110m hurdles during that nice stretch with a time of 16.79

The San Juan Capistrano-native will run the 110m and 400m hurdles at Biola and plans to major in the Bible, Theology and Ministry program. White hopes to be a youth pastor one day and has been a loyal volunteer with the first and second graders at his church for years.

He is also excited to join a track program that sees the value of his loyalty and matches his willingness to work hard:

"I chose Biola because I really enjoyed the Christian atmosphere every time I visited the campus," said White. "I am extremely excited to work with the coaches, meet new team mates, and compete on the Biola track and field team."
