Signing announcement for Nathaniel Estrada

Self-Starter Estrada Chooses BU

Nathaniel Estrada commits to Biola after taking AP courses and starting a small business in high school.

March 17, 2020

WHITTIER, Calif. --- The La Serna High School pipeline to Biola remains strong as another member of the Lancers has committed to spending his college years racing as an Eagle. Nathaniel Estrada will join coach Sean Henning's Track & Field and Cross Country programs starting in the fall of 2020.

Estrada qualified for CIF Division 1 postseason competition in cross country during his senior season. On the track side, his fastest time in the mile is 4:19.18 and he has also recorded an 800-meter time of 1:54.8. He recorded a 4th-place finish in the Del Rio League track championships last season.

Away from athletics, Estrada is a driven entrepreneur who owns multiple businesses, including a shoelace design company that also ventures into apparel. He plans to major in business administration at Biola and should come in with several requirements under his best after taking several honors and AP courses in high school.

Like many others, Estrada heard about the Eagles through Lancers head coach Joe Orr, a Biola alumnus. Estrada says he chose Biola so he could be surrounded by others who share his Christian beliefs.

"I believe that this will allow me to grow closer to God and have more friends than I've ever had before," Estrada said. "I am extremely excited to get to know the cross country and track runners and grow a bond I know will last a lifetime."

Eagles fans can look forward to seeing Estrada race for Biola in cross country next fall. More information on the rest of Biola's incoming 2020-21 student-athletes can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
