WHITTIER, Calif. --- Biola Track and Cross Country added another La Serna Lancer to its distance group with the signing of Aidan Arredondo from nearby Whittier, California.

Arredondo will be joining the very successful men's cross country team coached by Sean Henning after earning podium finishes in 2019 for Biola University alum Joe Orr's strong Cross Country program at La Serna. Arredondo set a personal best in the 5k at the 2019 CIF State Championship with a time of 15:48, placed 5th in the 3 mile with a time of 15:25 at the 2019 Del Rio League XC Finals and was also the runner up in the 1600m at the Del Rio Track & Field League Meet in 2019.

As he enters Biola, Arredondo will be studying Computer Science with the dream of being a videogame designer or programming. His list of academic achievements includes two Honor Roll recognitions, two years of perfect attendance at La Serna and serving as a math tutor since he was a junior. 

Arredondo also assists the youth & family ministry in his church as a Junior Core member and expressed how significant the experience of community at Biola and camaraderie with his new teammates were in his choice to join the Eagles:

"I chose Biola University because it's not only a prestigious school, it's a community of students and staff that made me feel welcomed," said Arredondo. "Plus, I'm excited and blessed to begin a whole new journey of running at a collegiate level with a new team and coach."
