NAPA, Calif. --- Biola Track and Field added a new future member to its program with the addition of Gianna Troppy from Justin-Siena High School in Napa, California. Troppy has won league championships in both discus and the high jump and intends to continue competing in both events at Biola. 

Troppy's high school track & field resume has a long list of successes. In addition to her Vine Valley Athletic League discus championship and her two-time championship in the high jump, Troppy holds the VVAL league record in both events, 119' 4" in discus and 5' 2" in the high jump, and was named the 2019 Women's Track MVP for her team. 

The Napa-native also qualified for the California State Meet for in 2019 and placed 21st in the high jump after finishing first in five discus competitions and six high jump competitions that year. 

Outside of her sport, Troppy is an excellent student, achieving straight A's all four years of high school. She received Academic Achievement Awards in Honors English, Spanish, and Human Physiology, leading Troppy to a top-10 rank in her class and recognition as an AP Scholar with Distinction. 

She also enjoys fishing and hiking and has won Best In Show for cake decoration in the Napa Town and Country Fair.

Troppy will be studying Business Administration at Biola with the hopes of one day owning a company of her own.
