Lots Of Wins To Begin

Corry Williams and Nathaniel Belden win all events on day one of their multi-event.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --- Biola Track & Field officially began its 2020 season on Friday as a small group of multi-event student-athletes began competition at the Sunshine "Indoor" Open & Combined Events hosted by Westmont College.


Friday was just the first four events of the men's heptathlon, which features Corry Williams and Nathaniel Belden representing Biola.

Williams leads the event through day one, winning the high jump (1.81m) and the shot put (11.89m) to help him accumulate 2,524 points.

Belden is the second man in the hunt for the heptathlon title. He finished the day in second place with 2,457 points. Belden won the 60m dash (:07.28) and the long jump (6.04m) to have Biola sweep all four events.

They will finish the competition at Westmont on Saturday. The men will be joined by a few ladies, who will do all five of their events in one day.
